SAP Analytics Cloud story keeps on buffering in the edit mode

A little backstory about why I am writing this article I have been facing this issue for a week, and I tried all the possible ways that I knew, but nothing worked. Even I took a copy of that story to just check whether it works in some new story, but to no avail. I almost gave up. Later on, after a lot of trial and error and with the help of seniors, I could resolve the issue, and it finally worked fine.

What was the Problem?

The main problem was that when you open your story in SAP Analytics cloud and from view mode (it is working fine; you see the table and all other details) you take it to edit mode, it just keeps on buffering and loading. You are not able to view any kind of table information, which will lead to a delay in your work as you can’t make any changes now because you can’t see data.

How to Solve the above Problem?

SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) gets stuck in a loading state when transitioning from view mode to edit mode. This could be caused by various factors, and those are mentioned below:

  1. Basic step: restart your browser, system, or SAC Sometimes, because of browser cache, this issue comes up, and rebooting sounds like a viable solution at that time.
  2. Update SAP Analytics Cloud, Ensure that you are using the latest version of SAP Analytics Cloud. Regularly updating to the latest releases can help resolve known issues and improve performance.
  3. Network Firewall Settings, This can create trouble sometimes, due to which it is blocking certain features of SAP Analytics Cloud.
  4. Filters, Once you have done your basic checkup of the browser, system, SAC update, etc. and none of the above solutions give you a heads-up to get back to work smoothly, now it is time to remove all filters you have applied to the story and then check. Many times our filters are the ones that cause problems for the story to load.
  5. Input_Controls, After you have checked the filters, it is important to check the other part of the story, which is input control, because when they are not linked to the table correctly, they cause problems with story loads and buffering. (I was facing this.)
  6. Tables Linkage, Many times in one story, we have two tables that are interlinked with each other, and that’s the problem that causes both of them to not cooperate with each other, which leads to having the story to load.(This was one of my reasons too.)
  7. Check all your connections related to the table and comment them out for temporary purposes to see how your table reacts.

I hope these solutions will help you in any case if you are stuck with your story in edit mode.
