My requirement was as soon as user enters data on any year it should get aggregated and save it in the last month of the year. eg- if user is entering data in the year 2023, the value should be saved in dec 2023 and this can be done using exception aggregation. Follow below points to make this work in your application.

  1. Go to your Model and from model navigate to dimension account, do not open dimension account separately. Select the exception aggregation, here I wanted LAST period so selected that and I want to aggregate date dimesnion so selected Date Dimension.

2. If the above step works great otherwise go to your model settings and click on structure priority. Here you will get 2 options measures and account. If you select measure then top priority will be given to measure and account properties won’t be considered. If you want model to consider and apply account properties you need to priortize account and then your exception aggregation will work.

I spent a lot of time looking for the solution and finally understood the problem, so sharing in public to save others time. Let me know if any questions-Linkedin

~Thanks for reading
